Paradise Rescue Kennels

Nestled in the heart of the Spanish countryside, our story began with one simple act of compassion, and grew into a lifelong mission to rescue, rehabilitate and protect vulnerable dogs.

in 2000, Colleen Jay and her husband, Peter, moved to Spain from Ireland with dreams of a peaceful early retirement and their two beloved Irish Wolfhounds. They settled in Benferri, a small town in the Vega Baja region, ready to enjoy a slower pace of life. But fate had other plans.

What began as a single rescue soon became a remarkable commitment to giving abandoned and neglected dogs a second chance. Over the years, Colleen and Peter have rescued and rehabilitated thousands of dogs, providing them with safety, care and the opportunity to find loving forever homes. Their work continues today, with many more dogs still waiting to be saved.

We Are Getting Ready For Winter

As summer in Spain slowly comes to an end, the rainy days and colder nights will soon be arriving. If you are thinking of changing your towels, quilts or blankets, we would be very grateful for any clean, good-condition items you would like to donate to help keep the dogs warm and comfortable. Collection points will be available shortly, where you can drop off your donations. You can also support us via transfer to our bank. Every donation, large or small, makes a real difference, and we are truly grateful for your continued support.
